What's New

I will be conducting a Relax and Renew Restorative workshop at:
the Yoga Sanctuary
Danforth and Bloor.
Sunday, November 8, 1-3 pm
The cost is $30

Darkness, Quiet, Stillness, Warmth

These are the conditions you will experience as I take you on a journey of deep relaxation. The Relax and Renew series consists of lying in a fully supportive asanas for 20 minutes Over this time, gravity gently releases the stress and knots of daily life. The 2 hours will facilitate in the healing of mind, body and spirit. This workshop is based on the week long teacher training I took with Judith in May, 2009. It represents a refinement and improvement of the poses since the book was published in 1995

What is Doga?

Yoga means different things to different people. Doga is just another aspect of developing the healthy benefits and peace of mind that Yoga brings.

We all know of that special bond that exists between a person and their dog. Doga simply builds on that bond, allowing you and your canine companion an hour to relax and let the worries and stress of everyday life subside.

As you regularly practice Doga with your dog, she will develop an understanding of what you are doing. Your dog will come to enjoy these precious moments when it is only you, she and the quiet of the moment.

You will begin to feel the benefits of lower blood pressure, calmness, serenity, slower heart rate, muscles relax and bones relieved of the daily stress of gravity.

As you hold your furkid during the poses, you will feel her slower heartbeat the breath deepen, the body soften. You and she together, bond in a way that is unlike anything you have experienced with her.

A dog can also experience stress. And they can pick up on your stress. So it builds. If you dog is susceptible to sickness, this increased stress can reduce his ability to heal. It can lower the immune system, just like in humans. You guide your friend through a restorative session of poses.

Doga, through it's relaxation technology, can assist in building that system to a healthy level
